Antibiotics for Acid Reflux

Acid Reflux Antibiotics - Acid Reflux SYMPTOMS - CURE ACID REFLUX
Acid Reflux

Acid Reflux or GERD is a very common condition in which the liquid content of the stomach backs up into the esophagus. It can be extremely painful and linger on and on. However, we believe that with patience, a healthy diet and a few home remedies, you can cure acid reflux!

As often seems to be the case, we start with Apple Cider Vinegar and its amazing potential to improve overall health. It may seem counterintuitive to use acid to cure an acid problem, but it has worked for so many of our readers that we can no longer doubt it.

Acid Reflux SYMPTOMS

  • Heartburn a burning sensation in the chest
  • Regurgitation of food or sour liquid
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Coughing, wheezing and chest pain, especially while lying down
  • Hoarseness and sore throat
  • Belching, nausea, vomiting
  • Stomach ache and pain on awakening
  • Sinus infections
  • Asthma may worsen
  • Burning mouth
  • Tooth enamel erosion increased wear and decay
  • Tooth chipping, sensitivity, discolouration (yellow appearance)
  • Bad breath
  • If you suffer from belching, burning in your stomach and a sour taste in your mouth, check with your doctor. You have either an infection, reflux, or a stomach tumor.

Your doctor(only doctor) will order an upper GI series X ray or put a tube into your stomach to look for a cancer. He will also order tests for helicobacter, the bacteria that causes most stomach ulcers. Virtually all doctors agree that all cases of helicobacter infections should be treated with antibiotics, but if you don't have helicobacter, you will be diagnosed with reflux or GERD which means that stomach acid is regurgitating up your esophagus and that you will never be cured and can expect to take medications for the rest of your life. All people who have belching and burning in their stomachs and a Helicobacter infection should be treated with two antibiotics and an ulcer medicine for at least one week.

Prilosec is a brand name of the generic omeprazole, a medication that may be prescribed by a doctor or which you may purchase over-the-counter. It is used in the treatment of gastrointestinal problems such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Other uses for Prilosec, according to the Mayo Clinic include, are as a treatment for Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a condition that causes ulcers in the duodenum or small intestines; to prevent damage to the esophagus from acid reflux; and, along with antibiotics, to help in the fight against H. pylori bacterial infection. It is available as a pill or capsule. Taking too much of the drug can lead to overdose.
